Richard Lee

Richard's association with the Royal dates back to 1982, when he was here as a trainee for two years. He then joined Stocks & Stocks at Breakers Resort in Umhlanga Rocks & was later transferred to Kwa Maritane. He left Stocks & Stocks to join the management team with Sun International at The Cascades, Sun City. On returning to S.A. he joined Southern Sun hotels & was later promoted to General Manager of the Umhlanga Rocks Hotel. In 1990 he returned to the independent Royal Hotel in Ladysmith. |

Maritha JanseVan Noordwyk

Maritha began her career in Oudtshoorn as a receptionist before moving on to Plettenberg Bay. She then moved to Ladysmith & the Royal Hotel in 1995. Maritha quickly moved up the ranks from Restaurant Hostess to Receptionist, Banqueting Co-Ordinator, Assistant F & B Manager & then moved onto the Blue Waters Hotel in Durban for 2 years. In early 2003 she returned to the Royal Hotel as Deputy General Manager. |

Adri Viljoen

Adri began her career in the Hotel Industry
at the Royal Hotel after being wooed to Ladysmith by her suitor. Adri
started as Banqueting Co-Coordinator & soon was running the entire
Banqueting Department. In late 2008 she
was promoted to Executive Housekeeper.

Riaan Breedt
|
|
Riaan began his career as a Chef in the SANDF. On completion of his military service he worked at Highberry farm producing salads for the Wild Coast Sun, from there he moved to Umbombo Sugar Estate & Country Club, in Swaziland, as Head Chef. On returning to S.A. he had a brief spell at the ICC in Durban then moved on to Ladysmith & the Royal Hotel. |

Neeran Pandoy
Food and Beverage Manager |

Neeran began his career in the hospitality trade, as a very young man, at the Royal Hotel Ladysmith, as the Food & Beverage Purchaser. He later moved to Johannesburg where he continued in the hospitality industry. It wasn't too long before he was drawn back to Ladysmith & re-joined us as Food & Beverage Manager. |

Harry, the longest serving staff member at the Royal Hotel, has the never-ending task of making sure that everything, large and small, functions as it should throughout the Royal Hotel. |
